One of the major principles in recovery from injury is control of swelling.
Swelling occurs soon after the joint is injured, and can happen rapidly in the case of a blood vessel being damaged.
If you want to recover quickly you need to apply compression.
ICE is NICE, but COMPRESSION is KING
Compression limits ongoing damage to the joint tissues and if in addition support is given then recovery time can be reduced by weeks!
